D&B’s
policy is to carry out its business in such a way that the health
and safety of its employees and other persons, both on and near the
workplace, is not endangered in any way and that the impact on the
environment is minimized. Through visible Management commitment and
the contributions of employees, D&B
will strive for continuous improvement in its health, safety and
environmental performance. D&B
is committed to operating in the safest and most environmentally
responsible manner possible, by providing our personnel with the
best training and the highest quality tools and equipment available.
We take the utmost care to see that all our
activities are performed in full compliance with the Occupational
Health and Safety Act No.85 of 1993.
We are careful to assess the environmental effects of our
work such as:
a)Controlled and uncontrolled emissions of matter and energy
to
land, water and the atmosphere.
b)Generation and disposal of solid and other wastes.
c)Use of land, water, fuels and other natural resources.
d)Noise, odour and dust.
e)Effects on the environment and the eco-systems

Health and Safety
Employees are responsible for their own safety and that of their
fellow employees.
Employees are responsible for:
1. Working in a safe manner as not to endanger
the health and
safety of themselves and fellow
employees.
2. To work within the parameter of training
received.
3. To report all injuries, accidents and
unsafe acts. (near-misses)
4. To respect and not deface any signage or
equipment pertaining
to health and safety.
5. To keep equipment and tools in a
serviceable and
acceptable condition.
6. To report and default, damaged or
un-usability of any
plant or equipment.
